Manufactured by Meubles TV in 1953, this dining table, with Italian-style extensions, was a huge commercial success. The relatively thin edge conceals - with the arrow in its centre - the mounting of the top and the fixings of the black lacquered tubular base. This table combines modern and clean lines. The tubular base is light and highlights the subtly designed beech top. The colour is light and golden, the rotary-cut veneer is sublime: applied across the width, the design of the veins is fine and contributes, with an optical effect, to the perfect proportions of this modernist table. The edge merges with the belt of the table and forms a discreet chevron. The re-edited version is composed of a top and a single extension mounted on bearings. The extending table has a sliding top in stained ash veneered MDF, stringers in solid stained ash and black lacquered metal legs.
